GRAPE VARIETIES: Montepulciano 90% minimum and up to 10% maximum Sangiovese.
WINE NAME and STYLES PRODUCED:
- Montepulciano d’Abruzzo Colline Teramane Rosso – Red Still
- Ageing requirement: 2 years minimum 12 months of which in oak or chestnut wood followed by 6 months minimum in the bottle calculating from November 01, after the harvest. Minimum alcohol 12.5%.
- Montepulciano d’Abruzzo Colline Teramane Rosso Riserva – Red Still
- Ageing requirement: 3 years minimum 12 months of which in oak or chestnut wood followed by 6 months minimum in the bottle calculating from November 01, after the harvest. Minimum alcohol 12.5%. Only wines aged in this fashion may mention “Riserva” on the label.
PRODUCTION DISCIPLINES:
- Yield - Maximum production per hectare: 11,000 kilos. Maximum juice yield from grapes 70%.

- Communes: Grapes must come from the commune of: Ancarano, Atri, Basciano, Bellante, Campli, Canzano, Castellalto, Castiglione Messer Raimondo, Castilenti, Celino Attanasio, Cermignano, Civitella del Tronto, Colonnella, Controguerra, Corropoli, Giulianova, Martinsicuro, Montorio al Vomano, Morro d'Oro, Mosciano Sant'Angelo, Nereto, Notaresco, Penna Sant'Andrea, Pineto, Roseto degli Abruzzi, Sant'Egidio alla Vibrata, Sant'Omero, Silvi, Teramo, Torano Nuovo, Tortoreto, in provincia di Teramo.
